Erika Flynn
Ms. Flynn is ecstatic to be directing Bye Bye Birdie. As a graduate of MMS players and Theatre 308, she is thrilled to be in the Darien theater community! Previous shows directed at MMS include Cinderella, Seussical Jr, Footloose, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Legally Blonde Jr, and Alice! Outside of MMS, Ms. Flynn works as an audition and vocal coach, as well as teaching nursery school. She is grateful to everyone who helped bring this show together: the cast for their talent and energy; the crew for making this show beautiful, all of our incredible parent volunteers; her family for always supporting her;Rori, Reiss and Annelie for being wonderful student leaders; and the MMS players production staff- Mrs Knapp, Ms Rosenboom, Ms Kelly, Ms Young, Ms Greto, and Sabrina, who are amazing teachers and incredible friends. She wants to dedicate this show to Dr Lev, who directed her in Bye Bye Birdie at MMS in 2002 and inspired generations of Darien Theater students.

Eleni Rosenboom
Ms. Rosenboom is really excited to be assistant directing for Bye Bye Birdie this year! Although she teaches fine arts here at MMS, she has an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and always loves being a part of the theater scene. She privately coaches actors outside of school and in school she runs the Acting Workshop Club where students can come and work on scenes and improv to develop new skills and acting techniques during the main stage’s off seasons.

Katharine Knapp
Mrs. Katharine Knapp is thrilled to be directing music for the Middlesex Players production of Bye Bye Birdie this year. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, where she majored in Music and Theatre, and she earned her Master’s degree in Theatre from NYU. Currently, Mrs. Knapp directs the 6th Grade Chorus at MMS and teaches music for Ox Ridge’s ELP. In recent summers, she has directed JMTW productions including The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, The Lion King, Willy Wonka, Seussical, and The Aristocats. A huge, heartfelt thank-you to the entire cast and crew for your talent, teamwork, and tireless energy—and special thanks to Erika, Kat, Eleni, Sabrina, Sarah, and Karla for all the laughs and fun along the way. Mrs. Knapp would also love to give a big shout-out to her new colleague, Mr. Skye Shogren, for his endless enthusiasm, positivity, and overall good vibes.Enjoy the show!
