TALENTS FXBG

 Director's Note

In the heart of Frozen lies a truth about love—not just romantic love, but the fierce, everyday, sacrificial kind. The kind that shows up. The kind that thaws a frozen heart. This show is a living story of transformation, courage, and connection. And that is exactly what our season has been.

From the first-day giggles discovering the joy of improv, to the nerves of auditions, to the friendships built at every rehearsal, each student experienced a transformation, and together, we transformed as a family.

To Maria, our incredible assistant director, whose kind heart fills the room with encouraging words and enthusiasm every week, I am endlessly grateful for your passion, presence, and steady support in more ways than I can count.

To Lilah, who knows exactly what we need before we even say it, thank you for listening, encouraging, supporting, and cheering us on in every possible way.

To Gianna, our music director, you guide with such ease and elegance. Thank you for your dedication and for helping our students create beautiful music that moves us all.

To Michelle, thank you for your unwavering dedication to making each costume a representation of the love and care we have for every child and every character. Your kindness, strength, and energy inspire me daily.

To my husband, John, thank you for being the strength behind the scenes. For going to work just to catch a moment to sit down between building sets, hauling props, and helping me track down every last item on our endless shopping lists. Thank you for letting our home become a backstage prop room, for listening to my stories about the sweet things the kids say and do, for weighing in on the “right” shade of red, and for testing every knob on the light board 128 times to make sure the perfect spot is lit. I am deeply grateful for you.

To my daughters, Ella and Chloe:

Ella, playing Elsa may be your final youth performance, but your journey began when you were three and your dad walked you on stage, your tiny hand in his. Now, you choreograph dances, sing with strength, help plan every detail, and find the right words to lift every cast member around you. In real life, you are nothing like Elsa’s icy walls—you are warm, open-hearted, endlessly forgiving, and full of love. Yet you share her courage, maturity, and selflessness. Watching you grow into the leader, artist, and person you are today has been the greatest honor of my life.

Chloe, our behind-the-scenes performer, your wisdom is woven through every moment of this show—from solving tech problems to finding ways to make drama the best it can be. Your support, patience, and humor remind us all to have fun. You and Ella are my muses—not just for what you do, but for who you are. Watching you both grow into the remarkable people you’ve become fills my heart with pride beyond words.

To all the parents, thank you for supporting your children’s creative talents! This cast has shown ownership, kindness, and maturity far beyond their years. In long rehearsals and fast-paced, sometimes confusing moments, they have lifted each other up and made this room feel like family. That is a true testament to you.

And finally, to our incredible cast: thank you. You are the heart of this show. You remind us that being yourself is a kind of magic, that love is a power stronger than fear, and that when you work together, there’s nothing you can’t weather.

Let this performance be your own “Let It Go” moment—step into your light and shine. I am honored to know each of you.

With great honor for you,
Lisa Dunnivan
