Disney's High School Musical - February 06 - February 07, 2026

Wilton High School

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Senior Show is a longstanding tradition at Wilton High School. For over forty years, seniors have come together to have a last hoorah onstage regardless if they had been doing theater for years or have never participated in a show. I once spoke to a Wilton police officer that told me he was an athlete at WHS but he performed in his Senior Show and loved the experience. I too performed in my senior show as did many others in our community. The beauty of this tradition is to make unique memories your senior year that become unforgettable and this year is no exception!

In the past, senior show has sometimes been student written and sometimes we license a preexisting show like High School Musical. This year I found myself in foreign territory since I somehow missed the boat when this Disney movie originally came out. So this production was entirely new to me! The first read through was hilarious as I was hit with the throwbacks of early 2000's slang and jokes. But the dated elements just make this show that much more endearing and loveably cheesy. Not to mention the earworms that you'll be humming for weeks to come!

I want to thank the cast for their dedication to continuing the Senior Show tradition. It has been such a pleasure to laugh with all of you throughout this process. I would also like to thank our student choreographer, Kara Mobyed for bringing the screen to the stage with these fantastic dances! Another thanks to my partner in musical crime, music director, Mr. Mandelbaum for reminding us all of the correct lyrics and making Cellular Fusion our new favorite song. We also couldn't make this production happen without the dedication of our student stage managers, designers and crew!

We are lucky to also have the full support of our administration. This includes Assistant Principal, Joshua Marko making his stage debut with us as Coach Bolton! It is always a fun time to have staff join us onstage and this is a special role that we are fortunate he agreed to! Welcome to theatre Mr. Marko and we hope this show makes a lasting memory for you as well!

Lastly, a huge thanks to all of you for coming out to support these students and the Senior Show tradition at WHS. Enjoy the show!
