Sarah Viola has worked professionally across the USA and in Europe performing both opera and musical theater. She has performed with many distinguished orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and Royal Concertgebouw at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Local performances include the Dayton Playhouse productions of MY FAIR LADY (Eliza) and MAN OF LA MANCHA (Aldonza). Sarah is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Paula Dunn Powell
as The Mother Abbess
Paula Dunn Powell is the Director of Choirs at Stivers School for the Arts where under her leadership, the choirs have performed for the Ohio Choral Director’s Association (OCDA) summer conference, with the Bach Society of Dayton, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, and at Carnegie Hall. As a soloist, Paula has been featured in a number of works, including Mozart’s “Missa brevis KV 220”, and the Rutter “Gloria.” She regularly performs with the Dayton Opera Chorus.

Rebekah Skaroupka
as Sister Berthe
Rebekah is happy to be back singing with the MVSO after being on stage in Fiddler on the Roof and Les Mis. This will be her 3rd time performing in Sound Of Music and has loved it each time. Most of the time you don’t see her as her favorite place to be is backstage helping with fast costume changes. Enjoy the show!

Cynthia is delighted to be on stage with several of her teachers, mentors, and cherished friends. She is honored to have performed various operatic and theatre roles throughout the United States. Cynthia has been singing and dancing her way through life with joy and encourages everyone to do the same.
